The walls of the hall were lined with posters depicting the various projects being undertaken and each researcher was given the opportunity to briefly introduce their area of interest and project. Pri-Sci-Net was one of the projects included. Dr. Suzanne Gatt explained how the project aims to promote inquiry-based learning in science among young children between the ages of 3-11 years.

He spoke of the importance of this sector for the local economy and the continued intellectual growth of the island which, he said, is one of Malta’s greatest assets before inviting The President to say a few words.  Hon. Dr. Abela spoke of his delight as seeing such enthusiasm emongst the crowd present. Whilst acknowledging that he himself is not a keen scientist, he spoke with deep admiration for the field and the combined effort of all those working in it noting that they do this for the benefit of the whole of Malta and in Global interest.

Hon. MEP Dr. J. Pullicino Orlando and CEO Dr. N. Sammut then invited The President to a reception prepared to mark this event. Local Researchers, MCST staff members, the President’s entourage and the press were invited to the event.
