KATHO University College

Katho has seven departments spread over four campuses and offers eighteen different bachelor’s courses including Bachelor of Education for Nursery, Primary and Special Education. In addition, it has established four centres of expertise

at the Tielt department for research and development.

The four centres of expertise are ‘distance and digital learning’, ‘broad school: bridges between school and society’, ‘heritage education’ and ‘scientific thinking’.

The Pri-Sci-Net Team

Nele Mestdagh ia a lecturer of mathematical initiation and Head of knowledge valorisation works. She is also a member of ETEN (European Teacher Education Network).  

Kristof Van De Keere is a lecturer of Science education and world orientation. He is involved in cooperation with local primary schools, Universities and institutions which are promoting Science and Technological Education in primary schools.

Both Mrs. Nele Mestdagh and Mr. Kristof Van De Keere are both engaged within the expertise centre ‘scientific thinking’ of the KATHO department PHO Tielt.
