University of Jyväskylä

The University of Jyväskylä is a multidisciplinary scientific university, with an absolute drive for quality in all areas. It ranks as the second largest university in Finland measured according to the number of Master's degrees conferred,

and hosts 15, 000 students in addition to adult education students, totaling to 40000 students. The University has established strong international partnerships in the field of education with 35 institutions of higher education abroad. It also participates actively in five exchange programs (Erasmus, Nordplus, ISEP, FIRST, North South) worldwide which enable students to study abroad as part of their degree.  The Department of Teacher Education within the university educates future professionals for teaching and counselling (from preschool to vocational institutions and adult education) through a number of different programs and methods of study.

The Pri-Sci-Net Team

Asunta Tuula Anneli, a Reader in pedagogy since 2005, and Head of International Affaris Committe. She was also Deputy Director of the Department of Teacher Education and Director of subject teacher training. She is currently reviewer of doctoral theses and has worked for several years as an expert advisor in a project for preparing and evaluating the new curriculum and assessing learning results in Mozambique together with other international experts, during years 1999-2004. She has been nominated to be a representative of the Education group in Steering Committee meeting of ’Tuning Educational Structures in Europe ´in Brussels 20.3.2006 and has also worked in the national curriculum development group (‘VOKKE’) in the area of education since it was started (2003).
