University of Cyprus

The University ofCyprus is a public University, established in 1989 and includes five Schools. All departments are active in research and operate in close collaboration with the Government of Cyprus.

The Learning in Science Group at the University of Cyprus conducts a coordinated program of research, curriculum development and instruction and is directed by Prof. C. P. Constantinou. The Group has experience in: designing curriculum for teacher training particularly in the area of science and mathematics; web based learning environments for reflective inquiry; e-learning science platforms; and providing internet based resources for in-service teachers of rural schools.

The Pri-Sci-Net Team

Prof. Costas Constantinou served as a member of the Working Group researching ways to increase participation in mathematics, science and technology (DG Education and Culture). He also served as a member of the High Level Expert Group on Increasing Human Resources for Science and Technology in Europe (DG Research). He is also executive secretary of the European Science Education Researchers Association (ESERA).
